CDM on its 1st National Strategic Planning

The Centrist
Democratic Movement (CDM) National Federation takes on a new milestone as it
conducts for the first time the National Strategic Planning last January 10,
2011 at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati City.

The activity was highlighted by the presence of Dr. Gerhard Wahlers, International Cooperation
- Head of Department of the Kondrad-Adenauaer-Stiftung (KAS) together
with his wife, Annette Wahlers; and the CDM National Conveners, Dr. Peter
Koeppinger, Country Representative of KAS and Mr. Lito Monico C. Lorenzana, the
Chairman of Centrist Democratic Political Institute(CDPI).

The delegates which came from the five (5) Regional Assemblies welcomed Dr. Wahlers and his wife at a luncheon meeting in the Fiesta San Miguel Restaurant of the hotel. Thereafter the group proceeded at a conference room for the program proper.
Mr. Mussolini Lidasan, the newly-elected Regional Chairman
of the CDM Southern Mindanao headed the opening with a Muslim prayer and the
Christian prayer was headed through a touching presentation of prayer song by
Mr. Johnjoan Mende, the Deputy Chairman of Central Visayas (Dan-ag). The
singing of the National Anthem was led by Ms. Lorelyn T. Dumaug, the Regional
Secretary of CDM Northern Mindanao (Lambigit).

A welcome remarks was given by the CDM National Council 2nd
Deputy President, Dr. Nenita Manongsong.
Then the five Regional Assemblies headed by their
respective Regional Chairpersons: Ms. Jacqueline de la Pena (CDM Central
Visayas-Dan-ag); Ms. Amy Luz Catalan (CDM Western Visayas); Mr. Mussolini
Lidasan (CDM Southern Mindanao); Ms. Diana Afable-Lorenzo (CDM Manila) and Mr.
Bruce A. Colao (acting Deputy Chairman of CDM Northern Mindanao-Lambigit)
presented the current situation and plans of each area. The Regional
Chairpersons stirred the group with the updates of each Regional Assembly as
well as the unique plans they came up for 2011 and beyond. Each addressed the
concern of their respective Regional Assembly and stressed the importance of
coming up with a plan in attune to their cultural, economic and political
needs.
Dr. Peter Koeppinger introduced the presence of his head
Dr. Wahlers to the delegates. He called on everyone present to just do their
job without having to act out for the purpose of giving good impression.
A challenging and inspiring message was delivered
by the National Council President, Mr. Roderico Y. Dumaug, Jr.prior to
the the actual strategic planning. The National President called on everyone to
be enthusiastic in sharing their plans not only for the region but for the
entire CDM National Federation through a clear and professional means of
attaining it.

The strategic planning proceeded with a highly interactive
sharing of ideas from among the participants with the guidance and comment from
the National Conveners, Lito Monico C. Lorenzana and Peter Koeppinger.

Dr. Wahlers expressed his immense appreciation to the conduct of the proceeding and noted that if these are the kind of people willing to take part, then a great hope can happen to the movement in whatever way it chooses its direction to heed. Being first time to the Philippines, he cannot help but admire the enthusiasm of the officers and members considering its being first of its kind in the country. He declared the continued support of the KAS in the cause of the Centrist Democratic Movement in the Philippines.

After the deliberation, a formal adoption to the strategic
planning concluded the session.
The activity was held coherent by Mr. Jordan Jay C.
Antolin (Regional Treasurer, CDM Northern Mindanao -Lambigit) being the master
of the ceremony.
A sumptuous dinner was prepared for the delegates at a Thai Restaurant few blocks away from the venue.
Mr. Francis Xavier
Manglapus, the son of the former Sen. Raul Manglapus and Prof. Edmund Tayao of
the Local Government Development Federation (LOGODEF), being closely in network
with the CDM joined the group briefly after the dinner.
